Laboratory and Safety Management

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the overall safety management of the CUNJC and its laboratories.

01. Develop and optimise continuously the safety management regulations for the CUNJC, and coordinate and supervise all parties to carry out safety management tasks, including fire safety, production safety, and security for the entire building.

02. Develop safety training programs applicable to all personnel in the CUNJC, organise and implement the training regularly, and ensure all new staff to be trained during induction period.

03. Regularly inspect the CUNJC’s premises to identify potential safety risks and urge relevant parties to implement corrective actions.

04. Develop and optimise regularly the safety management regulations for the laboratories. Conduct safety and environmental protection-related inspections and take corrective actions for potential risks.

05. Organise and deliver safety training specialised in laboratories for the project staff . Coordinate the project staff to have occupational health check-ups regularly as required.

06. Regularly inspect laboratories in the CUNJC, supervise the operation of staff, and ensure the safety of electrical systems, hazardous chemicals, instruments, biological hazards, and other dangerous sources and implement protective measures, and ensure the normal functioning of water, electricity, gas, and fire protection facilities in the laboratory.

07. Coordinate and implement the construction and renovation of laboratory environments based on the actual experimental needs of ongoing and newly established projects, and handle procedures for laboratory safety assessments, environmental impact assessments, and occupational hazard evaluations as required.

08. Be responsible for the management of laboratory goods and materials, regularly check the completeness of safety supplies, and promptly arrange for repairs, rectifications, and procurement of emergency facilities. Manage fixed assets and consumables related to projects, ensure proper labelling of equipment, and conduct regular inventory checks and record-keeping. Archive documents related to laboratory assessments, inspections, and basic experimental records of project teams, and ensure the  experimental records and data properly filed by project teams.

09. Supervise the resident enterprises and their laboratories implementing the safety management in compliance, and conduct safety and environmental protection inspections as well as corrective actions for potential risks.

 

JOB REQUIREMENT

01. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
02. Work Experience: Minimum of 3-year experience in laboratory or facility management.
03. Personal Qualities and Abilities: Strong communication skills, teamwork spirit, rigorous in work and attention to details, and a strong sense of responsibility.
04. Professional Skills: Proficient in English oral communication and reading.
05. Other Requirements: Positive and proactive work attitude, ability to handle work pressure.
